The Calgary Wranglers jumped out to an early lead and defeated the Bakersfield Condors 6-3 in AHL action at the Saddledome on Tuesday night.
Dryden Hunt scored just 26 seconds into the contest to give the Calgary Flames’ farm-clubbers the lead for good. Goals by Brady Lyle, Clark Bishop and Rory Kerins extended the advantage to 4-0 after two periods. Ilya Nikolaev and Matt Coronato, into an empty net, also tickled twine for the Pacific Division-leading Wranglers (9-1-1). Oscar Dansk made 38 saves.
Condors goaltender Jack Campbell endured another difficult outing. He allowed five goals on 26 shots and lost his third straight start since he was placed on waivers by the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 7, clearing them and being sent to the minors. Campbell allowed four goals in each of his first two starts for Bakersfield.
Cam Dineen, Dino Kambeitz and Seth Griffith tallied in the third period for the Condors (4-5-0).
The Wranglers and Condors will wage another Battle in Alberta at the Dome on Wednesday (7 p.m.).
