The Calgary Flames need an offensive boost.
They’re hoping that Connor Zary, their first-round pick in 2020 and the leading scorer for the AHL’s Wranglers this fall, can help.
The Flames announced Tuesday that Zary has been recalled from the farm club. The 22-year-old forward — a natural centre who has been working the left wing of late — was off to a superb start at minor-league level, with a goal and nine assists during a six-game point spree. This is his first career call-up.
The Flames, who have scored just six times during a five-game losing skid, return to action Wednesday when they welcome the Dallas Stars to the Saddledome (6:30 p.m. MT, Sportsnet One/Sportsnet 960 The Fan).
